Docent Training Program
Basic Docent Training: April 4, at Little Basin

The trails of the redwood forests are inspiring places.  Sempervirens Fund docents like to hike, they like to talk.  And they have the ability to do both at the same time.  Our docents are special people who tell us more than our eyes can see; they are our forest guides.  Our docents are tree-huggers who can’t get enough of the majesty of the forest, and they’re passionate about sharing it with others.

Some of our activities:

  • Lead interpretive hikes on Santa Cruz Mountains trails**
  • Work booths at local festivals
  • Plan and attend special events

You are invited to become a Sempervirens Fund Docent! Basic Training for Docents is held once per year, and is FREE.

Our next training session will be on Saturday, April 4, at Little Basin. We will spend the day learning about the history and ecology of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and explore some of the beautiful trails at Little Basin. The training is free, and lasts from 9:00-4:00. Please look at the Docent Volunteer Position Description, and if you're interested, let us know by filling in the form below, or by contacting Katie Buelterman: (650) 968-4509.
